Unwrapping the Postmodern

My first work of theory-performance took place at Illinois State University in 1992 during a symposium with Timothy Leary, Brenda Laurel, Donna Cox, (among others).  Organized by Barry Blinderman, who was then Director of University Galleries at ISU, the symposium was one of Leary’s early “whistlestops” on his national tour where he touted the virtues of virtual reality.  I performed a scripted reading of my visual essay the virtual body in cyberspace and the rise of the cyberpunk as a popular cultural formation.
